Things You Can Do for Your Health Today

Eat Slowly
Give your brain time to catch up with your stomach. When you eat more mindfully, you’re less likely to overeat — and more likely to enjoy every bite. Slowing down helps you tune in to your body, make healthier choices, and feel satisfied with less.
Ditch the Juice, Eat the Fruit
Love orange juice? Try eating an actual orange instead. Even 100% pure juice loses nutrients when it’s processed — and often adds hidden sugars. Whole fruits, on the other hand, are rich in vitamin C, potassium, fiber, and folic acid. Plus, they’re naturally low in calories, fat, and sodium.
Watch the Fat
Not all fats are the enemy. Skip trans fats (found in some packaged foods like frozen pizza and pastries) — they’ve been linked to heart disease. But embrace healthy fats from fish, avocados, nuts, whole eggs, and full-fat dairy. In fact, healthy fats can keep you fuller longer and may even support weight loss better than low-fat options.
Socialize
Your relationships are just as important as your diet. Strong, meaningful connections can boost your mood, lower stress, and even improve your overall health. Reach out to a friend for dinner, join a class, or find a community group — connection is medicine.
Be Active
Exercise is one of the most powerful tools for your body and mind. You don’t need to train for a marathon — just get your heart rate up for about 30 minutes a few times a week. Take a walk, garden, dance, or move however you love to move. If it’s hard to stay consistent, find a friend to make it fun.
