Oct Series: Classic Strength Training For Bones

Compared with other types of exercise, strength training can deliver

the most benefits to the maximum number of bones. A strength

training program typically employs equipment such as weight

machines, free weights, resistance bands or tubing. Not only does

strength training protect against bone loss, but it also builds muscle

and improves your body's ratio of lean muscle mass to fat.


As a result, it deserves an important place in your exercise routine.

No matter what routine you use, here are some tips for safe and effective training that will help you get the most out of your workouts:
  1. Warm up and cool down: Warming up brings nutrient-rich, oxygenated blood to your muscles while raising your heart rate and breathing. Cooling down slows breathing and heart rate to help prevent a sudden drop in blood pressure that can cause dizziness. Always make sure to end with stretches.
